Suspeita de Membrana Epirretiniana, Excesso de Divergência e Adaptação de Lentes de Contacto Multifocais

Abstract

In this report are described three clinical cases, Suspected Epiretinial Membrane, Divergence Excess and Multifocal Contact Lenses Adaptation, which I handled during the curricular internship integrated in the Optometry and Vision Sciences Masters Degree of Universidade da Beira Interior. The optometric examination, in order to be as complete as possible, needs to explore the refractive state as well as evaluate the binocular vision and ocular health of the subject because some diseases and binocular anomalies induce very little or no sintoms or the complains can be mistaken as having their’s origin on refractive errors, going unnoticed. Ophthalmic and contact lenses have evolved a lot through time and besides correting ametropic errors can also be used as therapeutics or as a part of a visual therapy program. In this report it will be possible to confirm this fact. It follows the exposure, study and discussion of the three clinical cases as well as theoretical introductions about the topics covered in each of them.
