Arquitetura: Sonoridade e Gesto

Abstract

There are many studies, which thought the time, are trying to attest the relation between architecture and music. But the question is, do the architecture influence the music, once that all the history of musical evolution shows that, or instead, do the music influence the architecture, once that sounds and melodies could evoke the architect’s creativity. Anyway, it’s not possible to define, surely, which of the arts has more strength in this game of influences. Affirming music as an intrinsic art to architecture is the subject of this dissertation. Thus, the primary goal will approach questions as historical contextualization or other questions that will demonstrate the connection between these two art forms. This dissertation will achieve a methodological proposal, which will be supported by the conceptual layout of architectural scenographic spaces where the primary use will be the musical performance. For that, will be considered points as the musical or architectural creation. The created methodology will be demonstrated throughout an architectural proposal that will answer to the solicitations imposed by music specialists, who will estipulate the program to be followed. In terms of materialization the developing proposal should reveal the conclusions extracted thought the theoretical support of this work, reinforced also by the opinion of elements related to the both worlds (architecture and music), through surveys. This dissertation will set not only theoretical but also methodological bases to the connection between architecture and music thought unifying features as well as disconnected features allowing useful conclusions.
