Abstract

O presente relatório descreve a investigação sobre injeção de plástico juntamente com desenvolvimento de produto para a empresa Moldit – Indústria de Moldes S.A, sedeada em Oliveira de Azeméis. A empresa facultou ao autor deste relatório a realização de um estágio curricular, para que o mesmo conclua o seu mestrado em Design Industrial. No presente relatório pretende-se dar a conhecer a interação entre o design e a engenharia e todo o processo de um designer na indústria de moldes e de injeção de plásticos, desde a investigação das tecnologias da empresa e recomendações a designers, até ao desenvolvimento de produto e todo o processo de produção. O desenvolvimento de produto inicia com o “Cesto de Compras” como projeto inicial e “Banco Alto” como projeto principal. Durante a leitura deste documento será possível compreender o desenvolvimento de produto na sua forma pensada e estruturada pelo ponto de vista de um designer industrial. Será observada a indústria, as dificuldades comunicacionais e criativas entre design e engenharia, os processos de fabrico, as preocupações com o material e a produção. A forma de abordagem deste relatório é a consequência entre a parte produtiva e criativa da investigação feita sobre a tecnologia da empresa e os cuidados que os designers têm de ter quando desenvolvem produtos com peças de plástico. Porém, grande parte do processo de escolha provém da preocupação pela memória do utilizador, adaptando os produtos às necessidades da sociedade contemporânea e criando ligações emocionais e familiares.

The present report describes the investigation about plastic injection along with the development of product for the company Moldit – Indústria de Moldes S.A, located in Oliveira de Azeméis. The company allowed the author of this report to undertake a curricular internship so that he could complete his master's degree in Industrial Design. In this report will be shown the interaction between design and engineering and the entire process of a designer in the mold and plastic injection industry, since the investigation of the company's technologies and recommendations to designers to the development of product and the entire production process. As initial project the “Cesto de Compras” to the main one “Banco Alto”. During the reading of this document it will be possible to understand the development of product in its thought and structured way, from the point of view of an industrial designer. Will be observed the whole industry, the communication and creative difficulties between design and engineering, the manufacturing processes, material concerns and production. The approach of this report is the consequence between the productive and creative parts of the research carried out on the company's technology and the cautions that designers must consider when creating products with plastic parts. However, a large part of the selection process comes from the concern for the user's memory, adapting the products to the needs of contemporary society and creating emotional and family connections.
