Construir no vazio

Projetar uma nova centralidade na Amadora
Authors: Moreira, Joana Cabral da Silva;

Construir no vazio

Abstract

The present work focuses on the understanding and importance of urban voids, how they fit into the city, resulting in a project proposal that responds to new void distributions, taking advantage of it as an element of composition, structuring and spatial and social qualification. Coming to a proposal of reinterpretation of the void without losing its intrinsic morphological logic in the memory of the city. A proposal of several objects that work as a whole, capable of housing everyday activities: living, leisure, learning and social development. This project aims to respond to the remarkable urban problems in the intervention area, trying to restructure an uncharacterized and fragmented territory of the surrounding urban fabric. In this sense, the work intends to reflect on this condition of building in the void, developing a proposal of urban intervention that aims a regeneration project framed in an urban void in the city of Amadora, Venda-Nova - Falagueira. Framed in a strategy of urban regeneration, giving a new way of seeing and living this city, through housing, services and commerce creating opportunities for links between the various existing voids. The great objective is transforming a fragmented space into a continuous and articulated public space, where the voids will act as participating and essential elements in this new form of centrality.
