Identidade visual de Portalegre

Authors: Nunes, Pedro Miguel Ventura;

Identidade visual de Portalegre

Abstract

The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the impact of a visual identity project on the social, cultural and economic development of a city in crisis: Portalegre — a unique case of disinvestment and desertification in the country, that sees an alarming and systematic decline in demographic numbers. There is an opportunity for Design to contribute to the solution by creating a visual identity that projects the city on both a national and an international level and improving its ability to attract investors, tourists and the interest of its population. The theorical framework and practical investigation results in the creation of the brand and its visual identity that is a starting point to transform its reputation, contribute to a larger notoriety, identifying and institutionalizing it on a national collective conscience.
