This study results from an internship held in Portugal Telecom, in the attraction, development and retention department. The internship consisted in the integration into programs' TraineesPT and AcademiaPT teams and active participation in all the stages of the recruitment and selection process. The methods and techniques of recruitment and selection used in these programs are analyzed. First, a literature revision is done with relevance to the use of the internship as a selection technique. It is followed by a description of Portugal Telecom and the processes of recruitment and selection studied. After that, the activities held during the internship are described. Lastly, a confrontation between these activities and the literature revision is done, being identified constrains found and some improvement opportunities from the organization point of view, as well as proposals for future investigation.

Este estudo resulta de um estágio realizado na Portugal Telecom, no departamento de atração, desenvolvimento e retenção. O estágio consistiu na integração nas equipas dos Programas TraineesPT e AcademiaPT e na participação ativa em todas as fases do processo de recrutamento e seleção. São analisados os métodos e técnicas de recrutamento e seleção usados nestes programas. Começa por fazer-se uma revisão de literatura, com relevância para a utilização do estágio como técnica de seleção. Segue-se uma descrição da Portugal Telecom e dos processos de recrutamento e seleção em estudo. São depois descritas as atividades realizadas durante o estágio. Por fim, é feita a confrontação entre estas atividades e a revisão de literatura, sendo identificados os constrangimentos encontrados e algumas oportunidades de melhoria do ponto de vista da empresa, bem como propostas de investigação futura.
