Green IS como fonte de vantagem competitiva

Green IS como fonte de vantagem competitiva

Abstract

Forecasts have been showing that levels of greenhouse gas emissions and electricity costs will keep rising. Therefore, solutions that may help the environment will increasingly set the agenda. If an organization applies ecological criteria in the construction and management of their IS and thus generate a higher return than its rivals, following a unique value strategy, then, it is expected the Green Information Systems (GIV) act as a source of competitive advantage. Using the qualitative method and based on a model adapted from the available literature, the collected data indicates that the analyzed companies are not creating competitive advantages from its GIV.
