Abstract

Na sequência do plano de estudos do 2º ano para finalização do mestrado em Exercício e Saúde, foi realizado um estágio que conjugou a área de investigação e o exercício. Este estágio teve lugar no Ginásio Clube Português sob orientação do departamento de pesquisa e investigação denominado por GCP Lab. Este documento transcreve todo o processo de aprendizagem durante o percurso, desde o manuseamento dos equipamentos, colaboração com a equipa GCP Lab em projetos que estavam a decorrer e após atingir o nível de competência exigido, iniciei o projeto ARTERIX que pretendia recolher dados das crianças atletas do clube. Como contributo à instituição, foi realizada uma compilação de dados obtidos nos vários projetos que abrangeram diferentes faixas etárias e fazer uma análise sobre a relação entre a estrutura e rigidez arterial com os fatores de risco cardiovasculares em diferentes faixas etárias. Por último, são apresentadas conclusões e reflexões sobre a importância da monotorização destas variáveis desde a infância.

The following Internship Report concludes the curriculum of the 2nd year within the MA in Exercise and Health, investigating different forms of exercise and its effects within an experimental setting. The internship took place at Ginásio Clube Português under the guidance of the research and investigation department, GCP Lab. The document transcribes all of the learning processes, from equipment handling, to the collaboration with the GCP Lab Team in on-going projects. After attaining the required technical expertise, I initiated the ARTERIX project that intended to collect data from the club’s athlete children. As a contribution to the institution, data was collected for and from various projects and the relationship between arterial structure and stifness and cardiovascular risk factors across multiple age-ranges was subsequently analyzed. Lastly, conclusions and reflections are put forth about the importance of monitoring these variables from childhood.
