Abstract

In the present study, we plan to analyse the influence of workaholism behaviors on organizational citizenship behaviors, and how organizational culture plays a moderating role in this relationship. It’s intended with this analysis to study the relationship between workaholism and organizational citizenship behaviors within organizations and among peers, and to measure the role of organizational culture considering the contrasting values model (Quinn & Rohrbaugh, 1983), more specifically, the Support Culture and the Objectives Culture as potential moderators. For this, we will make a cross-sectional study, where a hypothetical deductive quantitative approach will be used. Approximately 189 employees from different organizations and different work areas will be analyzed, and the data collection will be through an online questionnaire. However, the results were not as expected. According to our analysis, there was no negative relationship between workaholism and organizational citizenship behaviors, that is, an individual with high levels of workaholism will not necessarily decrease or not practice organizational citizenship behaviors. Regarding culture as a moderator of the influence of workaholism on organizational citizenship behaviors, it was also not possible to see this moderation. With this study, we were expected to be able to understand organizational behaviors among co-workers and how organizational culture could influence these behaviors.
