Habitar a cidade, novas geografias urbanas

Formas partilhadas de habitar
Authors: Manta, Miguel Ventura;

Habitar a cidade, novas geografias urbanas

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Based on the reflection of the study of the city, this work unfolds and emphasizes issues related to dwelling and sharing. It is intended to strengthen the theme of sharing, the contemporary dwelling that we find, for example, in the so-called digital nomads; very associated with the acceptance of new forms of coexistence and permanent mobility. We propose the reformulation of the instituted typological organization that we find reflected in the housing available in the city. Inhabiting provides support and continuity between intimacy and sharing, with the house prevailing as a place of welcome and permanence, a shelter from the community, from the bustle of the city. Sharing focuses on the possibility of sharing domestic uses, creating possibilities for interaction through the uses and associated tasks, everyday needs. By themselves, household chores are events that naturally boost contact with the other, strengthening connections and affections, premises of neighborhood. Sharing responds as a factor that makes it possible to stay in the city, facilitating access to housing in an urban context of proximity. Through the typological restructuring that exists associated with the traditional rental market, which sometimes proves to be inappropriate and dysfunctional in demand; the architectural proposal intends to reflect premises that allow possibilities to expect to obtain more affordable rents and houses with a more comprehensive degree of habitability. The architectural proposal suggests two types of housing, one for student residence and another type of housing that are houses that allow families or groups of people who wish to acquire residence in the city to be shared. Both types of housing are intended to be an alternative in terms of the possibility of bearing costs associated with living in the city today, linked to the population with greater financial availability. This factor has been segregating younger age groups, and families or groups with less capabilities, making it impossible for them to contribute and their ambition to reside and enjoy the city. In support of the housing proposal, two pieces of equipment are proposed that unify the proposed housing program, a school aimed at the theater and the creation of scenographic spaces, leaving open spaces that can support exhibition and playful events and a parking silo with a mixed use of commerce and services that connects and connects at an upper level with the tops of the houses through an exterior gallery. The alternative that is built also involves the creation of a new geography that materializes in the topographic form of the land - natural and artificial as well as in the places of urban functions, namely the location of public spaces for commerce that abandon the natural place of a stratification by floors, moving to the tops of the built volumes.
