O quarteirão multifuncional como nova centralidade

Proposta de um edifício híbrido em Setúbal
Authors: Lopes, Carolina Pinto;

O quarteirão multifuncional como nova centralidade

Abstract

ABSTRACT: In the cities there are several empty spaces, expectant, interstices in the built, which characterize the territory and at the same time represent the opportunity and hope to make it more active in urban qualification and in society. The city of Setúbal has a multifunctional block, where an abandoned area from the canning industries is located, which contributed so much to the changed and evolution of the locality. For this and others characteristics that block has, it is considered a place with the potential to revitalize this stagnant space, creating a new centrality, through a hybrid building. This work corresponds to the proposed intervention in the inner zone of the block and the architectural proposal of a hybrid building as na anchor space between the pre-existing and the new proposed areas. The construction will take place in the old industry area, with a diversified program aimed at the cultural and educational aspect, providing a new public space for the population. Therefore, the work will be based on the themes of urban voids, centralities and hybrid architecture.
