Abstract

O presente documento para obtenção do grau de mestre em Design de Produto aborda a temática da utilização das novas tecnologias digitais e em que medida a sua utilização pode beneficiar a metodologia projetual das empresas. Deste modo, através da realização de um estágio académico de índole profissional realizado na empresa Carpintaria Sucupira (CS), foram recolhidos dados relativos à metodologia projetual da empresa, sendo que a principal intenção da investigação será apresentar uma proposta inovadora, com o intuito de otimizar as estratégias utlizadas pela empresa, aquando da apresentação do projeto ao cliente, com recurso às novas tecnologias digitais. Assim, será realizado um estudo de caso em que se visa compreender de que forma é que as novas tecnologias podem melhorar a apresentação dos projetos aos clientes. Para isto, foram definidos três objetivos gerais: (i) Definir estratégias que contribuam para a otimização do processo de projeção da empresa; (ii) Compreender de que forma é que as novas tecnologias são vantajosas para a indústria do mobiliário; e (iii) Reconhecer de que forma as competências adquiridas no ciclo de estudos promovem o desenvolvimento profissional do estudante aquando do desenvolvimento de projetos. Perante esta situação foram também selecionados alguns instrumentos de recolha de dados, quer intervencionistas, quer não intervencionistas, sendo eles: aplicação de entrevistas e pesquisa e análise documental.

ABSTRACT: This document for obtaining a master's degree in Product Design addresses the theme of the use of new digital technologies and the extent to which their use can benefit the design methodology of companies. Thus, through an academic internship of a professional nature carried out at the company Carpintaria Sucupira (CS), data were collected regarding the company's design methodology, and the main intention of the investigation will be to present an innovative proposal, in order to optimize the strategies used by the company, when presenting the project to the client, using new digital technologies. Thus, a case study will be carried out in order to understand how new technologies can improve the presentation of projects to customers. For this, three general objectives were defined: (i) Define strategies that contribute to the optimization of the company's projection process; (ii) Understand how new technologies are beneficial for the furniture industry; and (iii) Recognize how the skills acquired in the study cycle promote the student's professional development when developing projects. In view of this situation, some data collection instruments were also selected, both interventionist and non-interventionist, namely: application of interviews and research and documentary analysis.
