Abstract

The IT market is one of the business sectors with the highest turnover rates. The difficulty in keeping employees in the organization has resulted in a lot of instability and is normally associated with high costs. Therefore, this study aims to better understand the IT market and what these professionals value most, so that in return companies can investigate internally ways to promote organizational commitment. The factor with the most impact is the organizations environment with a mean of 5,4 (on a scale of 0 to 6). Furthermore we encountered factores such as the possibility of career development and a just performance evaluation, with a mean between 5,3 and 5,2 respectively To further understand what kind of commitment employees are associated with, an analysis was made based on the 3-Dimension Model by Meyer and Allen (1991) and it was concluded that IT People's employees are more emotionally committed compared with normative and instrumental commitment. With this study, it is intended that future technology companies take into account all aspects / policies mentioned in this study so that the turnover rate is reduced and, consequently, the commitment to the organization increases.
