Abstract

Taking into account the sharp growth of the Information Technology (IT) sector and the difficulty of companies in attracting and retaining knowledge, this study aims to investigate variables that affect the retention of employees in the organization: the type of psychological contract, the perception of employability, and affective commitment. At the same time, in a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, the fear associated with this situation was also used as a variable in the study, in order to understand its impact on the variables studied. The results indicate that there is a positive relationship between the Relational Psychological Contract and Affective Commitment and the Perception of Internal and External Employability; there is a negative relationship between the Transactional Psychological Contract and Affective Commitment, and a positive relationship between the Transactional Psychological Contract and the Perception of External Employability. Contrary to expectations, there is no relationship between the Perception of Internal and External Employability and Affective Commitment. Covid-19 Fear has no influence on any of the variables under study
