Sector privado, inovação e ODS

Abstract

O papel central do sector privado na cooperação internacional para o desenvolvimento é uma das inovações da Agenda 2030. Em 2014, a UNCTAD estimava o défice de financiamento anual dos Objectivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) em 2,5 biliões de dólares. No seguimento da cimeira de Busan e das conclusões dos Objectivos de Desenvolvimento do Milénio (ODM), as capacidades, recursos e valências do sector privado deixaram de ser vistas com desconfiança, passando a ser encaradas como centrais para se alcançar os 17 ODS. A inovação, como pilar do sector privado no séc. XXI, é o novo paradigma. Neste relatório, exploramos as razões pelas quais as empresas podem e devem adoptar modelos de negócio alinhados com os ODS, em parceria com os actores da cooperação internacional. As parcerias são fundamentais para esta transformação; hoje, a actividade económica empresarial tende a mover-se ao longo de cadeias globais de valor em que a intervenção da cooperação internacional para o desenvolvimento, em torno da Agenda 2030, terá um impacto acrescido. Neste contexto, a gestão inclusiva e responsável da aquisição de serviços e produtos à escala planetária pelas empresas , assume uma importância crescente. Parcerias, cadeias globais de valor e aquisição de bens e serviços são as três áreas exploradas neste relatório.
