A proposta de projeto estudada na presente dissertação de Projeto Final de Mestrado, encontra-se localizada em território classificado como património cultural da Humanidade, em edificado, localizado na Vila de Pinhão, que integra a organização vinhateira da Casa do Douro. Neste sentido, é proposto uma intervenção de reabilitação fundamentada em conceitos de: preservação, identidade, história memória e tradição conjugados com os valores naturais, únicos, da paisagem envolvente. Através da leitura do território correspondente à região do Douro, torna-se possível a elaboração e redefinição programática da Vila de Pinhão, com base na regeneração social, cultural e turística, encontrando um equilíbrio entre os programas propostos ao nível de funcionalidades e as pré-existências com o objetivo de potencializar as aptidões naturais do local. Foi tomado como objeto principal de estudo e intervenção o edifício da Casa do Douro e respetivas cubas de armazenamento do vinho. Na abordagem projetual, é proposta uma redefinição total da funcionalidade, sendo uma função de carácter inclusivo, turístico e de habitação temporária. Entendidas as principais singularidades do edificado e com base na análise de conceitos, pretende-se instaurar um novo programa que permita aumentar a oferta turística da região, potencializando o crescimento económico e garantindo vitalidade ao interior, sem descurar a identidade própria do/s edifício/s.

ABSTRACT: The object of this Msc Final Project is located at Pinhão village on Douro region, which is humantity and cultural heritage classified territory by UNESCO. The building on this proposal integrates the Casa do Douro’s patrimonial heritage, an importante winemaking organization from 20th century. A rehabilitation intervention is proprosed based on concepts of preservation, indentity, history, memory and tradition mixed with the unique natural values of the surroundin landscape. Based on the understanding of Douro Valley region it is possible to draw a programmatic redefinition on the village through the social, cultural and touristic analysis. It’s possible to find a balance between the required functionality and the pre-existences aiming the natural features enhancement of the building. The main purpose of this project it’s the study and intervention proposal the Casa do Douro’s building at Pinhão and the adjacente wine storage facilities. The approach it’s based on a full redefinition of the building’s functionalities making them inclusive, touristic and suitable for temporary housing. Once understood the main features of the building and the conceptual analysis, a new program aiming the response to the increasing touristic fluxes and enhancing the local economical growth is proposed. This will bring life to remote areas of the country without neglect the building’s identity.
