Exercício e diabetes mellitus tipo 2

Abstract

The presented report is inserted in the scope of the internship curricular unit, as an exercise physiologist, held in the laboratories and exercise room of Faculty of Human Kynetics and in the gym of Diabetes School, building explored by Association of Portuguese Diabetics, which lasted one academic year, concretely from September 2015 until July 2016. This document was conceived with the purpose of showing the problems associated to Diabetes Mellitus, mainly focused in the type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, which represents the vast majority of the pathology cases and the role that different types of exercise play towards the control and treatment of this disease. Additionally, the tasks done as an intern of the D2fit Project are described in detail. The participation in this project allowed to put to practice all the knowledge acquired throughout the master’s degree and the internship, in an autonomous way, which is crucial in the transition to the work market. This way, the report presents all the work produced during the internship, making reference to the proposed challenges, the completed tasks and the knowledge achieved and put to practice.
