Evolução de solos do Perímetro Florestal de Manteigas sob povoamentos de Pseudotsuga, pinheiro bravo e faia

Abstract

Desde há alguns anos vem sendo dada certa atenção à espécie Pseudotsuga menziesii, como sendo uma daquelas exóticas bem adaptadas às condições ecológicas de largas zonas do país. Foi aliás intenção do Fundo de Fomento Florestal desenvolver um programa de estudos sobre essa espécie. Ao estudas a influência do coberto de pseudotsuga na evolução dos solos florestais quisemos compará-la com essa outra espécie com que largamente poderá concorrer – a Pinus pinaster. Entretanto, aquando do reconhecimento dos locais em que o estudo poderia ser feito, surgiu-nos a possibilidade de estabelecer comparação com duas outras espécies: a Fagus sylvatica e a Pinus sylvestris. Para tento planeámos o estudo da matéria orgânica do solo, assim como a determinação de algumas características físico-químicas deste, em perfis sob coberto de povoamentos puros das quatro espécies
