Efeito moderador do exercício físico no desempenho no trabalho

Abstract

One of the greatest concerns of managers is to maintain good levels of performance. The individual characteristics of employees are important variables that contribute to the competitiveness of organizations. The current work environment has a high degree of sedentary lifestyle, which influences the characteristics of the employees and their performance. This study investigates the moderating effect of physical exercise on the relationship between organizational commitment, job satisfaction, motivation and job performance. This quantitative work uses data collected through an online questionnaire. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Models and a moderation analysis was performed to determine the effect of physical exercise. The results show that there is a relationship between demotivation, intrinsic motivation, job satisfaction and job performance in its creativity dimension, as well as between intrinsic motivation, job satisfaction and job performance in its emergency dimension. It is also concluded that relations are moderated by the level of exercise performed by the employee.
