Abstract

This report describes ten months worth of work developed during the internship in Associação de Actividade Motora Adaptada, taken within the course of Development of Professional Skills of the Master in Psychomotor Rehabilitation. The psychomotor intervention was destined to kids and young adults between three and sixteen years old, being essentially taken in aquatic environment. The work focused both in the acquisition and development of communication and aquatic skills, in the pool, as well as in everyday life activities and free playing, in the leisure room. In addition, the pupils and teacher’s perception regarding their colleagues with special educational needs, who are also integrated in the swimming practice, was analyzed, with a short investigation being conducted. As so, this document was divided in two parts, the first one consisting of a theoretical review of the institutional context lived by the children and the contacted target population characterization. The basic fundaments of the psychomotor intervention are also described, being the working base-models specified in different contexts. In the second part, all the practical questions of the intervention process developed are presented: characterization, evaluation and analysis of the case-studies included. To conclude, there is a brief introspection about the formative experience.
