Intervenção psicomotora na CERCICA, CerMov

Abstract

The current report reflects the work developed during the curricular internship of the 2nd year of Psychomotor Therapy Master Degree, focused in the intervention with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). All internship took place in CERCICA institution, specifically in Núcleo Terapêutico e de Atividade Motora - CerMov, during 9 months, targeting children, youth and adults in a diversity of settings. Individual and group psychomotor intervention, through motor, sensory, affective and social experience of the person with disabilities, aims to maximize their adaptive behavior, promoting their independent functioning, autonomy and quality of life. This report is divided into three parts: the first one, concerns the institutional description, the characterization of the population supported and the general concepts of the psychomotor intervention; the second one, is related to the practical component of the internship, explaining the whole intervention process, settings, as well the cases-study and other activities developed; and the third one related to the research project, developed and applied throughout the internship. Lastly, there is a final reflection about the all internship experience.
