Digestibilidade in vitro vs digestibilidade in vivo : aplicação a regimes alimentares de monogástricos

Abstract

ABSTRACT - In vitro digestibility vs In vivo digestibility – Aplication of monograstics complete diets - This work aims to study the possibility of replacing in vivo digestibility with a laboratory simulation of digestion, comparing the in vivo and in vitro results. For that matter, were taken into account complete diets with the same percentage of fiber and protein on two species, those two being pigs and rabbits, and four different complete diets, with progressive replacement of a feed ingredient, the Brachiara plant, matching the progressive increase of fiber percentage . The values of DM and OM on pigs showed significantly different results in vivo and in vitro, being respectively, on average, 87% and 80%. On the other side, the percentages for rabbits were also significantly different even thought they were less significant, being, on average, closer to any regiment, showing a difference of 2%. The results of the CP in vitro were always above the in vivo. The method used had a highly significant effect on the results, taking us to conclude that the digestibility in vitro can’t be utilized to estimate the nutricional value of complete diets. However, it’s possible to use it to point out certain effects on different complete diets of global digestibility and CP.
