Abstract

Nowadays Data Quality is a relevant question since the organizations sustain decision-making on the data they have at their disposal, being the coherence and viability of those decisions dependent on the quality of data. On the other hand it?s widely accepted in the literature that poor quality of data can lead in high costs for organizations. Although Data Quality does not have a scientific definition determined because it depends on the viability and the interest of the information for those who will use, it may be considered that its management includes policies, processes and procedures that contribute for the improvement of the quality of data, thus resulting the need of study which are the Critical Success Factors that influence Data Quality Management. The study began with a literature revision where twenty four Critical Success Factors were identified. Then the research proceeded using the Delphi method with the Q-sort technique sustained in an online questionnaire in which the factors found were placed for consideration of a panel of 45 experts with the objective of order them according to its degree of importance. The results obtained shows that the five Critical Success Factors most important for the Data Quality Management are: definition of appropriate policies and standards, input control, the definition of a strategic plan, develop the culture in the organization focused on the quality of the data and obtain the commitment and support from top management.
