Abstract

A Arte-Xávega é uma técnica tradicional de pesca na Costa da Caparica que envolve o uso de uma rede de arrasto especial para capturar peixes em grupo. Os pescadores lançam a rede ao mar usando barcos de madeira e essa prática é uma atividade coletiva que requer a colaboração de pescadores e comunidades locais. A Arte-Xávega é uma tradição cultural significativa na Costa da Caparica, contribuindo para a economia local e preservando a identidade cultural das comunidades pesqueiras da região. Além disso, essa forma de pesca sustentável também proporciona uma experiência turística interessante para os visitantes da área. No entanto, com o passar do tempo, a Arte-Xávega tem vindo a enfrentar desafios devido a mudanças nas regulamentações de pesca e às preocupações ambientais, o que resultou numa redução gradual da sua prática na Costa da Caparica.
