Efeitos de impactos ambientais na mastofauna de áreas protegidas em ambiente antropizado

Abstract

No Brasil, as áreas legalmente protegidas têm a função de contribuir com a qualidade de vida das populações humanas, garantir condições de sobrevivência de espécies animais e possibilitar a manutenção da diversidade florística e reabilitação de processos ecológicos. As unidades de conservação brasileiras são áreas protegidas criadas com o objetivo de conservar a biodiversidade, considerando o uso sustentável dos recursos naturais. O Pará possui 25 unidades de conservação estaduais, entre elas a Área de Proteção Ambiental do Lago de Tucuruí, estabelecida na área de influência direta da Usina Hidrelétrica de Tucuruí. Este empreendimento de infraestrutura causou grande impacto ambiental em vários municípios da região sudeste do Estado, gerando uma paisagem florestal fragmentada, perda de habitat e de sua diversidade biológica. Com relação a fauna silvestre, várias ações foram executadas com o objetivo de reduzir a perda de espécies e animais, principalmente durante a formação e funcionamento da usina hidrelétrica. Esta pesquisa busca avaliar a permanência dos mamíferos no ambiente afetado pela usina, por meio de dados de monitoramento da fauna presente em território protegido na área de influência do empreendimento, e análise de imagens de satélite desta floresta.
