Abstract

Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o efeito da micrometeorologia no comportamento do fogo em três tipos de florestas adjacentes da Região centro de Portugal, respetivamente, pinheiro-bravo (Pb), eucalipto (Euc) e folhosas caducifólias (FOL). Foram amostrados um total de 20 pares de cada cobertura florestal (Pb/Euc; Pb/FOL; Euc/FOL), em zonas de rede secundária e em áreas de interface urbano-florestal. As recolhas de dados em campo foram processadas e utilizadas em softwares para determinar o comportamento do fogo e a probabilidade da ocorrência de fogo de copas. Os resultados demonstram, que povoamentos de Pb e Euc são mais suscetíveis à ocorrência de fogo de copas e a comportamentos do fogo mais intensos em comparação com as folhosas. Análises estatísticas comprovam a existência de diferenças significativas em quase todos os parâmetros avaliados para FOL entre Pb e Euc, reafirmando estudos anteriores que as florestas de folhosas estão associadas a um ambiente menos favorável à propagação do fogo e, por isso, é uma composição que representa menor perigosidade de incêndios. Este estudo, portanto, é mais uma tentativa de evidenciar sobre a necessidade urgente de ações que promovam a restauração florestal, e uso de espécies resilientes ao fogo em áreas de interface urbano-florestal em Portugal.
