Abstract

Este documento como parte do relatório de estágio, insere-se no âmbito do segundo ano do Mestrado em Exercício e Saúde no Instituto Superior de Estudos Interculturais e Transdisciplinares de Almada (Instituto Piaget), começa a amostrar as principais espectativas e caracteriza o departamento com que trabalhei. O documento está divido em dois capítulos. No capítulo I, serão detalhadas as intervenções que foram realizadas no estágio, caracterizando com suporte científico as tarefas que fui tendo ao longo do estágio, seguindo – se do referencial teórico referente a investigação científica que despertou o meu interesse com uma das tarefas que tive no estágio. No capítulo II será apresentada a investigação e o seu objetivo que foi perceber a relação do rácio de carga de trabalho aguda:crónica (ACWR) com a incidência de lesões. Especificamente, a pesquisa buscou entender as variações no valor ACWR se estavam associadas a um aumento de risco de lesões. Para a análise do estudo, foram selecionados os 3 atletas que apresentaram uma lesão durante o período de competição, para que pudesse ser analisada a variação no indicador ACWR nas semanas que antecederam a ocorrência da lesão. Embora dois atletas que eventualmente se lesionaram tenham mostrado aumentos nos valores de ACWR, o mesmo não explica um no terceiro atleta porque o valor do ACWR manteve -se constante, a análise destaca que o limiar considerado “zona de risco” pode não ser um preditor infalível de lesões. Apesar das limitações do ACWR como indicador isolado, o estudo sugere a sua utilidade na monitorização da carga de treino e destaca a complexidade da relação entre carga de trabalho e as lesões.
