Comportamento do consumidor de suplementos alimentares

Abstract

Esta investigação examina o consumo de suplementos alimentares entre praticantes de atividades desportivas, abordando fatores que influenciam esse consumo, incluindo a influência dos pares, fontes de informação utilizadas e a confiança nas mesmas, além das crenças, motivações e atitude dos consumidores. Através de métodos quantitativos, foram analisadas seis hipóteses principais. Os resultados confirmaram que os praticantes de ginásio são os maiores consumidores de suplementos alimentares. No entanto, a influência dos pares mostrou-se distribuída uniformemente entre diferentes modalidades desportivas. A internet emergiu como a principal fonte de informação, mas a confiança nas recomendações de amigos e treinadores foi significativa, enquanto nutricionistas não figuraram entre as principais fontes consultadas. As motivações para saúde mostraram uma correlação significativa com atitudes favoráveis ao consumo de suplementos, sugerindo que preocupações com a saúde são um motivador mais universal. As crenças nos benefícios dos suplementos correlacionaram-se fortemente com motivações de desempenho desportivo. As conclusões destacam a necessidade de intervenções educativas focadas em promover o uso consciente e seguro de suplementos alimentares, enfatizando a confiança em fontes profissionais e a qualidade da informação disponível online. As descobertas fornecem uma base sólida para futuras pesquisas e intervenções, visando melhorar a educação dos consumidores e regulamentar o uso de suplementos alimentares no contexto desportivo.
