Abstract

Este artigo tem como principal objectivo realizar uma reflexão crítica em torno do conceito de “Desportos de Natureza”. Explicaremos a necessidade de estabelecer o debate teórico sobre este conceito, tendo em conta a indispensabilidade de delimitar o campo de análise de investigações científicas que tenham estas actividades como objecto de estudo. De seguida, procuraremos responder aos principais desafios teóricos que nos são levantados relativamente a esta questão conceptual: a) Poderão estas práticas corporais desenvolvidas em meio natural ser consideradas desportos?; b) Como enquadrar numa só definição um conjunto de termos que sugerem a prática de actividades distintas em meio natural?; c) Qual o significado de Natureza na perspectiva das práticas corporais em meio natural? Apresentamos, por fim, , uma proposta conceptual fundamentada, que permite uma definição integrada das actividades que o conceito de Desportos de Natureza abrange.
