Galgamento de estruturas marítimas: comparação de ferramentas de cálculo

Abstract

O presente trabalho estuda o fenómeno do galgamento em estruturas marítimas utilizando diversas metodologias (fórmulas empíricas, redes neuronais e modelação física) e analisa e quantifica o galgamento para um caso de estudo da costa portuguesa. O caso de estudo é o quebra-mar do Porto de Rabo de Peixe (São Miguel, Açores), cujos ensaios foram realizados no Pavilhão de Hidráulica Marítima do Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC). Comparam-se os valores do caudal médio galgado por metro de desenvolvimento de estrutura obtidos nos ensaios em modelo físico reduzido com os valores provenientes da aplicação das ferramentas empíricas recomendadas no manual Europeu dos galgamentos (Pullen et al., 2007) para o quebra-mar em estudo, isto é, fórmulas empíricas e uma ferramenta que resulta da análise de redes neuronais artificiais.
