Jornalismo alternativo e de dados : estudo de caso da revista online Gênero e Número

Abstract

A seguinte dissertação parte de discussões de foco feminista em torno da questão de gênero, a fim de refletir sobre a representação de “mulheres” no jornalismo mainstream e de apontar possíveis modos alternativos do fazer jornalístico que sejam mais equitativos. A componente empírica recorre ao estudo de caso de uma revista online independente que se centra nas desigualdades entre homens e mulheres. Parte-se do pressuposto de que um meio de comunicação que enfoca o gênero apresenta, em relação à mídia generalista, uma abordagem jornalística diferenciada sobre o assunto, principalmente no que se refere à representação dos sujeitos femininos. Como o objeto de estudo assume a intenção de qualificar os debates de gênero, partindo de narrativas construídas com base de dados e evidências, também se busca analisar a qualidade do uso de dados na prática jornalística.
