Abstract

Palavras-chave: resíduos orgânicos; gestão de resíduos; lamas biológicas; resíduos da crivagem; fibras do tratamento primário ABSTRACT The work carried out at this internship was focused on the search for alternative and environmentally viable applications for waste produced in Celulose Beira Industrial (CELBI), S.A pulp mill. The waste under study are the result of pulp screening and effluent treatment (primary treatment fibers and biological sludge) in the industrial waste water treatment plant which are of an organic nature. The organic waste was characterized, and its current management situation was presented, as well as the difficulties experienced by the company in this process. The work was developed using the literature on existing methods or methods in study by the scientific community for the treatment of these wastes, and a research was carried out in the market of waste management companies in search of solutions known to them and / or possible partnerships for the development of solutions. Two of the methods found in the literature were studied further to verify their specific applicability to the Celbi´ s waste. The results achieved during this internship exceeded the expectations. A possible and viable solution for the biological sludge was found and a way was designed for new possibilities of valorization of the screening waste and fibers of the primary treatment.
