Como prevenir a diabetes tipo 2

Abstract

As mudanças comportamentais da civilização e alterações do estilo de vida, aumentaram a incidência da Diabetes mellitus por todo o mundo. O controlo da Diabetes e dos seus riscos tardios, micro e macro vasculares, serão o principal objetivo de modo a diminuir a morbilidade e mortalidade desta doença. A prevenção e controlo da Diabetes mellitus envolve uma série de cuidados importantes. A prática de exercício físico com regularidade, adoção de regras para uma alimentação equilibrada e saudável, e o controlo, com frequência, dos níveis de glicémia, são pontos chave para evitar problemas tardios. O conhecimento da Diabetes enquanto doença crónica, permite saber como lidar na identificação de indivíduos de risco e, como no caso de ser diabético, poder usufruir de uma vida normal, beneficiando do sucesso no tratamento.
