Abstract

A rotura total do ligamento cruzado anterior é bastante complexa na reabilitação. Descrever os procedimentos de avaliação e o protocolo de intervenção utilizado na reabilitação baseado na melhor evidência disponível e adotando um desenho de estudo de caso. O participante é um jovem atleta de futebol profissional de 20 anos com 10.1% de massa gorda e predominância de membro inferior esquerdo, com rotura total do ligamento cruzado anterior, parcial do ligamento colateral medial associado a contusão óssea dos pratos tibiais e lesão osteocondral do côndilo femoral lateral evidenciada na ressonância magnética. O atleta foi submetido a reconstrução do ligamento cruzado anterior com enxerto do tendão rotuliano. Foram efetuadas avaliações subjetivas ao joelho com os questionários International Knee Documentation Commitee subjective knee form(IKDC), e a ACL-Return to Sport After Injury Scale (ACL-RSI) e objetivas da amplitude de movimento através do goniómetro, a força através do dinamómetro isocinético e a análise de movimento observando a marcha e corrida nas diferentes fases da reabilitação. O atleta não teve intercorrências durante todo o processo de reabilitação e foi progredindo naturalmente ao longo das fases previstas, obtendo uma marcha normal às 6 semanas, e iniciou corrida às 14 semanas. O protocolo utilizado foi favorável para melhorar a capacidade funcional,força e regresso seguro ao desporto.
