Abstract

A Miocardiopatia Hipertrófica pode ser definida enquanto estado de doença caracterizado pela presença de hipertrofia inexplicada do ventrículo esquerdo e/ou do direito, associada a não dilatação das câmaras ventriculares, na ausência de outra doença cardíaca ou sistémica que possa produzir a magnitude da hipertrofia presente num dado paciente. A Ecocardiografia é o procedimento básico de eleição para o diagnóstico e quantificação da Miocardiopatia Hipertrófica, permitindo a obtenção de um vasto leque de informação fisiopatológica. A sua utilidade espelha-se também a outros níveis nomeadamente em termos de rastreio, avaliação da terapêutica farmacológia, presença de obstrução, resultado das manobras terapêuticas utilizadas, entre outras. Com este trabalho pretende-se abordar a Miocardiopatia Hipertrófica do ponto de vista ecocardiográfico, explorando as potencialidades deste método diagnóstico, abordando conceitos teóricos sobre a patologia, fundamentando ideias com base em estudos e artigos publicados sublinhando ainda a fulcralidade da distinção entre as formas obstrutiva e não obstrutiva. Será ainda incluído um breve relatório referente ao estágio frequentado no âmbito do presente Mestrado.
