Turismo de Natureza: Procura Turística e Imagem dos Espaços Naturais

Abstract

Uma das áreas de maior e mais rápido crescimento e que contribui para o aumento da indústria do turismo mundial é o Turismo de Natureza (Priskin, 2001). O Turismo de Natureza refere-se às formas de lazer baseadas em experiências diretamente relacionadas com atrativos naturais. Por outro lado, a imagem de Natureza é uma construção social e cultural que assume um papel importante na motivação para a procura dos destinos turísticos naturais. Dada a crescente procura de espaços naturais enquanto espaços de turismo e a importância da imagem que os turistas têm desses locais aquando do processo de decisão de escolha de destinos de férias, pretende-se com o presente trabalho, analisar a procura turística do Turismo de Natureza e a imagem associada à Natureza pelos turistas dos espaços naturais. Os resultados indicam que as motivações de procura de destinos de Natureza são: (1) mudança de rotina e relaxamento, (2) sociais, (3) prestígio, (4) aprendizagem, (5) autoconhecimento e (6) escape. Por outro lado, os turistas percecionam a Natureza como (1) espaços singulares, autênticos, (2) de atmosfera espiritual e holística, (3) lugares de risco e (4) de aventura. O estudo apresenta ainda as implicações para a gestão dos destinos turísticos de natureza, as limitações do estudo e sugestões para investigações futuras.
