Formar leitores na Sociedade do Conhecimento

Abstract

A apropriação da informação escrita, a partir de uma rápida e eficiente pesquisa, tornou-se vital. Neste contexto, cabe à Escola proporcionar a todos os indivíduos o desenvolvimento da compreensão do escrito. Nesta comunicação, pretendemos reflectir sobre o papel desempenhado pela Escola na formação de leitores. Do Jardim de Infância à Escola Secundária, existe o imperativo de contribuir para que a leitura seja utilizada por todos os alunos, não só para se apropriarem da informação produzida por outrem, como também para a organizar e produzir novos significados e novos conhecimentos, tornando-se num recurso insubstituível para transformar o próprio conhecimento, reorganizando-o e elaborando-o. Pretendemos também fazer uma análise do que está previsto nos documentos legais que regulam o funcionamento da escola para o confrontarmos com os indicadores disponíveis sobre as práticas e apresentar algumas propostas para ultrapassar as dificuldades que persistem, de modo a que a formação de leitores, ao longo do percurso escolar, se torne numa verdadeira estratégia para o sucesso educativo.
