Análise taxonómica em desporto de natureza. Estudo preliminar

Abstract

The creation and development of taxonomic models for classifying activities also permits the development of a specific nomenclature which aims to coherently and effectively indicate, analyse and interpret the terminology used. The intention is to classify outdoor activities, using taxonomic evaluation by a set of sports specialists. A tool (taxonomy classification card) derived from the referred to taxonomic analysis model was constructed to obtain the data, using various validation procedures and impartiality. The sample was initially composed of 25 activities, and then selected 7 activities so as to allow development in greater detail. The main results are associated to the construction of the analysis model, wherein the following indicators can be highlighted: i) contexts - physical, personal, social and ethical/environmental; ii) variables – environment, trajectory, plane, stability, contact, sensation, biotechnological resources, motor implications and ecological impact. This study demonstrated the need to build a taxonomic classification that is adjusted to the specific contexts of outdoor activities practised in Portugal.
