Culture plays a significant role in the beliefs, myths, attitudes and practices surrounding labor and birth. Studying the interaction between culture and the labor and birth experience can help to better understand the specific needs and concerns of pregnant women in different cultural contexts. A Scoping Review was carried out with the aim of mapping the scientific evidence on the influence of myths and beliefs on labor and birth from the perspective of pregnant women, obtaining 5 articles. From the scientific evidence obtained, it is essential to recognize that beliefs and myths surrounding labor and birth vary widely between cultures and communities, and that the specific impact depends on the history, education and individual experiences of the pregnant woman. The Nurse Specialist in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing must be aware of these cultural influences, respect and support women in their birth options, safeguarding maternal and fetal well-being and promoting a positive birth experience.
