Incentivos fiscais ao investimento em Portugal:booster do desempenho?

Abstract

Procurámos avaliar se o planeamento fiscal, com enfoque na utilização de incentivos fiscais, em sede de Imposto sobre o Rendimento das Pessoas Coletivas (IRC), promove o desempenho das empresas. Selecionámos uma amostra de 60 empresas portuguesas, beneficiárias daquele tipo de incentivos, dividida em dois grupos: “A” constituído por 30 empresas que, cumulativamente, maior valor usufruíram e “B”, as restantes 30 empresas que de menor valor acumulado beneficiaram. Com recurso à análise quantitativa, suportada por metodologia estatística, constatou-se que os grupos apresentam comportamentos nem sempre coincidentes. Em particular, ao nível da análise bivariada, na amostra total foi identificada uma relação positiva e estatisticamente significativa, entre as práticas de planeamento fiscal atendidas no nosso estudo e o desempenho das empresas. Concluindo-se que o planeamento fiscal evidenciou funcionar como booster do desempenho empresarial da amostra.
