Methodology: exploratory and documentary cross-sectional research, carried out with 37 electronic medical records of patients who had hip fractures, registered at the referred hospital. Results: Patients were divided into two groups, Group 1: Without transfer delay and Group 2: With transfer delay. All patients had a time between trauma and surgery of more than 2 days. There was a delay in 13 (35.1%) individuals, while 24 (64.9%) patients had the surgery within two days, with a delay in the transfer to perform the surgery of an average of 25 days and the time between hospitalization after transfer and surgery took an average of 7.0 days.
