Sonorização da banda sonora do filme "Le voyage dans la lune"

Abstract

This project was made in the Master of Sound and Image in the specialization of Sound Design at the Portuguese Catholic University of Porto, for the academic year of 2022/2023. The project consisted in making the soundtrack for the silent film “Le Voyage dans la Lune” from George Méliès which involved the creation and production of original music, sound effects, foleys, environments and vocalizations. After some research I found several soundtracks for this film, but all of them did not have sound effects, foleys or environments. I realized it would be challenging to create a soundtrack that I identify myself with, taking advantage of digital instruments and sound libraries, that is suited for the different moments of the film and that enriches the image. I chose this film for being a historic reference, being considered the first science fiction film which is a genre that interests me a lot.
