Burnout no trabalho por turnos : estudo realizado numa empresa do setor industrial têxtil

Abstract

The organization of shift work, when it involves performing night work and social values, can hinder further changes in the employee's physiological, psychological and social adjustment. Burnout syndrome is a phenomenon that results from chronic emotional tension experienced by professionals whose work involves intense and frequent relationships with people. The aim of this study was to find out a relationship between stress / burnout and shifts in 184 employees of a company located in a branch in the central zone of the country, aged between 19 and 60 years. Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI-PT) and a demographic questionnaire were used as research instruments to investigate other variables. Although not confirming a significant relationship between shift work and burnout, the values found show evidence of moderate levels.
