Abstract

O trabalho, que apresentei como dissertação de doutoramento, em 2005, tem o carácter de uma monografia sobre Mechtilde Lichnowsky (1879-1958). Todavia, há, certamente, uma relação entre o objecto de investigação e os métodos de aproximação que escolhi. Trata-se de uma figura multifacetada da Cultura Alemã, que não só escreveu em várias línguas e cultivou diversas artes, mas que também viveu em diferentes culturas. Publicou nada menos do que dezoito livros, que, na época, obtiveram reconhecimento. Fez parte da alta nobreza europeia, tendo tomado posição política contra qualquer dominação. Subjacentes a toda a sua obra e à minha análise, estão, por um lado, a questão das razões do insucesso sistemático da comunicação humana e, por outro, a do insucesso sistemático de textos. Nesta breve comunicação, procuro, centrada na análise do seu romance Kindheit [Infância] (1934), focar alguns aspectos do “insucesso escolar” desta autora de identidades múltiplas no contexto europeu e mundial, descrito na sua obra. Reflecte sobre o assunto, quer numa perspectiva pedagógica, quer do ponto de vista do discurso da diferença entre os sexos.
