The female desire has been considered a mystery and a problem that has never been defined by itself but from its opposite. This exploratory study has as main objectives to understand what constitutes female desire and its contours in a comprehensive manner from what is said directly by the woman in a relationship marked by intersubjectivity. The female desire was revisited and redefined to get a better theoretical understanding that can help clinical practice in the future. In this qualitative study, eight women were interviewed and was used as a data collection method the Free Association Narrative Interview (FANI) based on psychoanalysis as underlying theoretical framework. It was concluded that female desire is complex and multiple and is connected to self/identity, narcissism, sexuality and basic instincts of human being. It has a personal and relational component and is located in internal / external or psychological / biological poles. In its origin is related to the early relationship and identifications. It appears that woman stands in an intermediate position concerning active / passive and there is a complementary and oscillation of the subject roles between subject / object of desire. By having such a broad desire, women have a great plasticity in their sexuality and fantasy.

O desejo feminino tem sido considerado um enigma e uma problemática que nunca foi definida por si mas a partir do seu oposto. Este estudo exploratório tem como objetivos principais perceber em que consiste o desejo feminino e os seus contornos, numa lógica compreensiva a partir do que é dito diretamente pela mulher numa relação marcada pela intersubjetividade. O desejo feminino foi revisitado e redefinido para obter uma melhor compreensão teórica que possa auxiliar a prática clínica no futuro. Neste estudo qualitativo, foram entrevistadas oito mulheres e foi utilizado como método de recolha de dados a Entrevista Narrativa de Associação Livre (FANI) assente na psicanálise como corpo teórico subjacente. Concluiu-se que o desejo feminino é complexo e múltiplo e está ligado ao ser, ao narcisismo, á sexualidade e a pulsões básicas do ser humano. Tem uma componente pessoal e relacional e situa-se em polos interno/externo ou psicológico/biológico. Na sua origem relaciona-se com a relação precoce e com as identificações. Verifica-se que há uma posição intermédia da mulher face ao ativo/passivo e existe uma complementaridade e oscilação dos papéis sujeito/objeto de desejo. Por ter um desejo tão abrangente, a mulher tem uma grande plasticidade ao nível da sexualidade e da fantasia.
