A pré-adolescencia e as imagos parentais – um estudo Longitudinal

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the parental imagos in early adolescent boys. It’s well known that one of the challenges in adolescent development is the internal object reorganization, which consists in restructuring the internal infantile objects ties. To understand the configuration and evolution of these parental imagos and the relation of the subjects toward them, we designed a longitudinal study (with an interval of twelve months), with a sample o five subjects. Has an instrument we used a projective test, the T.A.T. (Thematic Apperception Test) which gave us the opportunity of accessing the subjects representation of these parental imagos through their narratives. Although we hadn’t found meaningful differences among all the subjects, in some we found empiric evidence that it had occurred changes within the representation and relation of the subjects toward these imagos. These changes consisted, especially, by an entry in a more Oedipal type of object relation toward those imagos. We also found in these subjects greater differentiation and autonomy in relation to these internal objects.
