O presente estudo tem como objectivo analisar a relação entre comportamentos delinquentes e estilos educativos parentais. Procurou-se especificamente, analisar: 1-Crimes violentos (roubo, ofensas à integridade física, sequestro, homicídio na forma tentada) estão relacionados com o estilo negligente ou indiferente (castigos físicos como método disciplinar e inexistência de afecto); 2- O estilo autoritarivo ou democrático (baseado no diálogo, compreensão, indução, afecto e uso da razão), promove a inibição de comportamentos delinquentes; Como instrumento para realização deste estudo, no âmbito de dar resposta às hipóteses de investigação, foi utilizado o Questionário de estilos educativos parentais de Lanborn et al.(1991) versão traduzida e adaptada por Barbosa-Ducharne et al. (2006).
ABSTRACT: This study aims to analyse the relationship between delinquente behavior and parental educational styles. We sought to specifically examine: 1-violent crimes (stole, body harm, kidnapping, na attempted morder) are related to the negligente or indiferente style (physical punishment as a method to discipline and lack of affection); 2- The autoritarive or democratic style (based on dialogue, understanding, induction, affection and use of reason) promotes the inhibition of delinquente behavior. As na instrument for this study in the contexto of responding to research hypotheses, we used the questionanaire of parental educational styles Lanborn et al, (1991) translated and adapted by Ducharne- Barbosa et al. (2006)
