Dislexia ou dispedagogia

Abstract

Peut-on rendre responsable une maladie,la dyslexie, pou les difficuités présentées par un grand nombre d'enfants à l'apprentissage de la langue écrite? On passe en revue les travaux qui portent sur la spécificité du trouble, l'hérédité et la spécialisation hémisphèrique. Les divergences entre les différents auteurs, les contradictions des théories explicatives et l'ambiguité de la symptomatologie, ne permetent pas de considerer comme relevant de la pathologie, les mauvais résultats et les difficultés des enfanfs dans l'apprentissage de la langue écrit. Une autre voie doit être cherchée pour expliquer ses échecs. L'institution scolaire est le cadre où ces apprentissages ont lieu. L'école participe largement aux difficultés des enfants parce qu'elle pratique une forme de séléction, basée sur une idée d'élève type, de «normalité», qui ne tient pas compte ni de l'origine sociale des enfants ni de leurs différentiations psychologiques. Mais le problème des difficultés d'apprentissage de la lecture dépasse largement le cadre scolaire. C’est un problème de projet vie donc de politique éducationnelle.
