Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a influência de um programa de Jogos Tradicionais nos níveis de aptidão física da mulher idosa. Para o efeito estudou-se de forma pormenorizada a possível ocorrência de alterações nas habilidades motoras básicas, consoante a idade. Para a realização deste estudo utilizou-se uma amostra formada por um grupo de 26 idosas, praticantes de atividade física, do concelho do Bombarral, com idades compreendidas entre os 65 e os 87 anos. Deste grupo, formaram-se outros dois mediante a faixa etária. Assim, formou-se um grupo de idosas com idades compreendidas entre os 65 e os 75 anos e um outro grupo, com idades acima dos 75 anos. Foi aplicada a bateria de testes de Rikli e Jones (2001) a todas as idosas, em dois momentos, no início e no fim do programa, o qual teve uma duração de 13 semanas. O tratamento dos dados obtidos foi feito através do programa estatístico PSPP, um clone “Open Source” do conhecido programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®). Verificamos com o nosso estudo, que as ligeiras alterações das capacidades motoras permitem-nos afirmar que um programa de Jogos Tradicionais permite manter os níveis de aptidão física funcional.
