Influencia de la reproducción y calidad de la leche en la rentabilidad de las explotaciones lecheras

Abstract

Este trabajo pretende presentar algunas ideas que pueden ayudar a mejorar la rentabilidad de las explotaciones lecheras. Entre los factores que determinan la rentabilidad de las explotaciones lecheras se destacan parámetros reproductivos ideales como el intervalo entre partos (365 días), el número de inseminaciones por inseminación artificial fecundante (1,5 a 1,7), la edad de las novillas al primero parto (22 a 24 meses) y la calidad de la leche producida. La existencia de vacas con mastitis en la granja afectará a las primas concedidas a los precios de la leche con bajo recuento de células somáticas que, asociado con la producción de leche reducida causada por mastitis, son factores que tienen consecuencias directas en la rentabilidad. Los valores más altos tendrán repercusiones en el costo de un litro de leche producida, con consecuencias negativas para el éxito económico de la explotación.
